The Westside Farmers Market will open on June 12th, 4:00 – 7:30 p.m.
The Westside Farmers Market serves five west side neighborhoods in Rochester, NY, located near the walking bridge to UR campus. The market meets each Tuesday from mid June to mid October in the St. Monica parking lot on Genesee St. We pride ourselves on a community spirit that is quite remarkable.
We have a warm, friendly, active market. (you could find us dancing on the pavement). We offer a good variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, greens, healthy snacks, breads, pies, cookies, jams, wine, salad dressings, plants, flowers, handmade herbal soaps – all from within 100 miles of Rochester. We encourage shoppers to come to the market, meet the farmer or vendor, make their purchases, socialize with friends and neighbors, enjoy the live music and entertainers, relax and enjoy the evening.
Opening day for 2012 will be Tuesday, June 12, starting at 4:00 PM, rain or shine. In fact the market does not shut down for weather, except for the duration of a thunderstorm. We always look forward to the opening of the market, and we are sad in October when it must close for the winter.
We accept EBT, MC, VISA, and many of our farmers participate in the Farmer Market Nutrition Program. There is plenty of free parking at the Westside Farmers Market, but many of our shoppers walk. We are also on a major bus route.
