MARKET DAY IS THIS TUESDAY, JUNE 11!
Join us every Tuesday!
4:00 - 7:00 PM, June - October

St Monica Church
831 Genesee St. Rochester, NY 14611

The days are long, the air is sweet, and there's so much abundance coming this week.
See you tomorrow!

It's strawberry season! Lagoner Farms brought strawberries last week with a new batch on the way for Tuesday. Get to the market early to take home these sweet, tangy treasures before they're gone!

Dust off those lawn signs! Here is your friendly reminder to get those lawns signs out of the garage or basement and stick them in your lawn!

Would you like a lawn sign for your yard? Has your current sign seen better days? Need a new stake? Sign up for a lawn sign to be delivered to you or pick one up at the market this week!

DON'T FORGET! New York State has doubled SNAP/EBT dollars at farmers markets! Every two SNAP/EBT dollars a customer spends are matched, effectively doubling your money.

How does this work? When you arrive at the Westside Farmers Market, look for our market info tent: it has a big sign that reads “SNAP/EBT Accepted Here.” We will swipe your EBT card and give you SNAP tokens for use at our market in the amount you request. For every two dollars you exchange for tokens, we will supply an equivalent amount in Fresh Connect checks (up to $50)!

Tokens and Fresh Connect checks can be exchanged for any SNAP eligible item such as bread, dairy, produce, meats, fish, eggs and more. More dollars to spend means more local, fresh, filling, and healthy foods for you and your family! Stop by the market info tent for more information.

A sneak peak of what's fresh this week

Here is a taste of some of the abundant seasonal treats you can look forward to this week! As always, see our full list of vendors here.

Sweet Treats by Momma K has baked up some BEAUTIFUL pastries!  Look for her pasteles, macarons, quesitos, flan and tres leche.

Moss Fresh Fruits and Vegetables will be bringing greens, tomatoes, peppers, onions, beets, sweet potatoes, apples, and more.

Little Creek Farmstead, our new meat vendor, will have eggs, pork, and pasture-raised poultry.

Freddie's Wood Fired Pizzas is a locally owned food trailer serving up thin crust wood fired pizzas, topped with our handcrafted red sauce. Try one of their classic recipes, or check out one of Freddie's signature pies: ratatouille or carbonara!

Mark and Amy's Pickles will be joining us with their delicious ranch, buffalo, and of course classic dill pickles!

Suncatcher Farms will be returning with freshly picked rainbow chard, spicy radishes, lettuce, and other veggies.

C and C will have an assortment of microgreen varieties available this week for people to pick and choose from.  Stop by and say hi to Felton and Ann!

Weatherfield Farm Herbal Teas Farm is a family farm, located above Lake Conesus in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York. Their teas are fresh, nutritious, and grown locally. Wild Red Raspberry Leaf Tea contains antioxidants and nutrients, which can help to relax the muscles and ease inflammation. Red raspberry leaf is also known to be rich in magnesium, a mineral that plays a role in regulating muscle contractions. In addition, the tea can help to ease nausea by calming the stomach and promoting regularity.

Live Music and Children's Tent
Kids of all ages will enjoy a fun craft this week: clothespin puppets!! Supplies will be available to create your own mini market friend. Stop by and say hi to our volunteers Kasim and Yeidi as they craft the night away!  We were so excited to see all the smiling faces and colorful kid's market bags last week. Don't forget to show them off this week!
Live music fills the air at the market! Nate Rawls and his Community Band put on a great performance for our opening day at the market. This week we welcome Camille Jean and friends. If you can, please consider tipping our musicians. They play because they love music and being part of the community. We ask that you help us support their hard work. Thank you!
Your support makes our market thrive

The market benefits form the support of many local leaders and elected officials. This year, City Council Member Mitch Gruber went above and beyond. The Westside Farmers Market would not exist without his support and leadership. Thank you, Mitch!

Jackie says, "you'll have a blast!"

Would you like to support our market and hang with some of the kindest, dedicated, silliest folks you ever saw wearing fruit and veggie costumes? Volunteer with us! The Westside Farmers Market is a great place to get experience working in our neighborhood with our neighbors. We play hard and we work hard! Reach out to Westside Farmers Market for volunteer opportunities supporting healthy foods and building community.

You can also join by donating to the Westside Farmers Market. Help us have a successful 17th year as your favorite market! Right now we accept donations by checks that can be made out to "Westside Farmers Market/19WCA" and mailed to 470 Rugby Ave, Rochester NY, 14619. We also accept donations at the market info tent each week (and if you can, remember to tip our wonderful musicians). Thank you to the many folks who donate a lot or a little and everything in the middle!
